THE HYPOTHESIS - The Second Friday of Every Month
The Hypothesis is a Reading Series presented the 2nd Friday of every month in the Coriolis Lab, 410 S. Michigan #803. This setting is perfect for rough cuts of works in progress – pieces that already have characters, plot, and dialogue, but need something more. Writers, use us as a venue to talk around points of creative blockage. Actors, use us as a platform to read characters that go against the grain of what you’re used to. The Hypothesis has a little something for everyone, even if all you’re looking for is a comfy seat and friendly conversation.
We will read three pieces each month, giving each writer one hour of time to divide between reading and conversation. We accept submissions at submissions@coriolistheater.org, or bring a hard copy to a reading. We look at everything that comes to us and will schedule you for the next available slot. If you are submitting work via hard copy, please include a completed personal interest form as a cover page.

By Aaron Ricciardi

In a dystopian future where censorship and obedience are the order of the day, independent-minded Teeny decides to break the law and go abroad. In doing so, she throws her family and the nation into chaos and sparks a revolution.
"It was curious to think that the sky was the same for everybody, in Eurasia or Eastasia as well as here. And the people under the sky were also very much the same—everywhere, all over the world, hundreds or thousands of millions of people just like this, people ignorant of one another's existence, held apart by walls of hatred and lies, and yet almost exactly the same—people who had never learned to think but were storing up in their hearts and bellies and muscles the power that would one day overturn the world." — George Orwell, 1984
